Christmas Poem/Lyric for 2014 for family and friends
I wrote this song for our ward choir to go along with the theme of 1 Nephi 8. More specifically, the Christmas meeting was to emphasize the tree and the fruit thereof as a representation of the love of God. Since I couldn't seem to find a song that went along with the theme or one I liked enough, I decided to write my own. I wanted it to kind of sound like "Prince of Egypt" with a middle-eastern motif. The song is written with 4 verses but it was too long, so I decided to do the last verse as a reprise. Below are jpg. images of the different pieces and parts of the song. It is not perfect notation-not even close. This year I need to pop for some real notation software that will allow me to write all 4 staves, since my choir members get very confused and frustrated. The reprise parts are the most accurate. The piano part on the first set of images is the most accurate. If you are interested in a clearer copy, please let me know and I will send it to you.

Sunshine in Your Heart
I did not include any dynamics, tempo, or expression marks. As you are playing the notes, think "Jane Austen Romantic Movie Music" Play slowly, legato, with romantic sweeping gestures (like Debussy). When writing the song I wanted it to be a musical sunrise, reminiscent of the scene when Mr. Darcy is walking slowly through the fog to embrace Jane. The song is a hymn arrangement for #228 You can Make the Pathway Bright. I also posted the parts and added lyrics and choir instructions.
